【叁巴沙丁鱼】Spicy Sardine Sambal With Potatoes


这阵子天气渐渐凉了,就老想着吃一些暖胃的菜,这道叁巴沙丁鱼是以前在马来西亚的时候很喜欢做的一道菜,是傍晚懒得去菜市场的时候加菜的好选择。

The weather is getting colder by the day, so I have been craving for some spicy dishes that could warm the body and my heart for quite some times.

So I made this Spicy Sardine Sambal with Potatoes today, it is a good dish to help improving appetite and a dish often  made back home shall the stock in the fridge run low.

It is so simple and quick that it could be made under 15 minutes.

材料:

1 茄汁沙丁鱼

1 中型土豆 (去皮切丁/切小块)

1/2 洋葱 (切丝/切圈)

2-3 辣椒(斜切成段)

2-3 大勺 番茄酱 Ketchup

少许

2-3 大勺 多用途叁巴辣椒酱


Ingredients:
1 can of sardine in tomato sauce
1 Medium size potato (skinned and cubed) This is my homegrown!
1/2 medium size onion (slice)
2-3 green or red chilies (cut into 1 inch long)
2-3 tbsp Ketchup
Salt to taste
1-2 tbsp Sambal Tumis


1. 先把土豆/马铃薯炸成金黄色备用。取出土豆块,把油盛出。

2. 同一口锅里剩下2大匙油,把叁巴辣椒糊倒入煸炒至红油泛出。加入洋葱丝和辣椒段稍微煸炒,然后加入土豆/马铃薯块翻炒大约1-2分钟。加入一杯水,煮滚之后,加盐和番茄酱调味。

3. 倒入罐头茄汁沙丁鱼,煮2-3分钟,间中稍微翻动,但是动作不要太大,因为沙丁鱼已经是熟的了,动作太大鱼块会不成形。 


1. Heat up about 1 inch of oil in a wok and deep fry the potatoes until golden in color.

2. Scoop out excess oil and leave about 2 tbsp, add the sambal tumis and cook until the oil separated at the edge.

3. Stir in sliced onion and green chili, followed by fried potato cubes, cook for 1-2 minutes, pour in 1 cup of water and bring to boil, season with salt and ketchup, cook for 3-4 minutes.

4. Add the sardine with its sauce, cook for 2-3 more minutes or until the gravy reaches desired consistency. Try not to over stir the fishes, else they will break.

下饭好吃的叁巴沙丁鱼。
It is a perfect dish to go with steamed jasmine rice!
